Terms of Service

1. Who can use LoveLink UK

LoveLink UK is for adults aged 18 and over who are physically located in the United Kingdom. By creating an account you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, are a UK resident, and are legally able to enter into contracts under the laws of England and Wales.

We use technical controls to restrict access to UK IP addresses and block known VPN and proxy services. If you use a VPN or proxy to circumvent these controls your account will be suspended.

2. Your account

You may only hold one account on LoveLink UK. Creating duplicate or alternate accounts (including after a ban) is strictly prohibited and will result in permanent removal.

You must provide accurate information, including your real name, age, and a valid UK postcode. Your postcode is used to verify your location and enable nearby matching. If a postcode is already associated with another account, your account will be placed under administrative review before messaging is unlocked.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. If you suspect your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@lovelink.uk.

3. Community standards โ€” what is prohibited

By using LoveLink UK you agree not to:

  • Impersonate another person or use someone else's photos
  • Create a fake or misleading profile (catfishing)
  • Harass, threaten, stalk, or abuse other users
  • Request or solicit money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or financial information from other users
  • Share your phone number, social media handles, or external messaging app usernames with the intent to move a conversation off-platform before establishing trust
  • Post or share explicit, adult, or illegal content
  • Spam other users or send bulk unsolicited messages
  • Use the platform for commercial solicitation, advertising, or recruitment
  • Collect or harvest other users' personal information
  • Attempt to bypass safety features, blocks, bans, or content filters
  • Use automated bots or scripts to interact with the platform
  • Access the platform via a VPN, proxy, or other tool to circumvent our UK-only restriction

4. Fraud and romance scam policy

LoveLink UK operates under the UK Online Safety Act 2023. We take financial fraud and romance scams extremely seriously. Requesting money from another user under any circumstance โ€” including claims of emergency, travel costs, or investment opportunities โ€” is a breach of these Terms and will result in immediate permanent suspension and, where appropriate, referral to Action Fraud UK.

We operate automated monitoring systems that scan messages for fraud signals (money requests, off-platform redirect attempts, phishing links). Flagged conversations are reviewed by our moderation team. By using the platform you acknowledge and consent to this monitoring for the purposes of user safety.

If someone asks you for money or makes you feel unsafe, please use the Report button on their profile or contact us at hello@lovelink.uk immediately. You can also contact Action Fraud at actionfraud.police.uk.

5. Content you upload

You retain ownership of photos and other content you upload. By uploading content to LoveLink UK you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display that content within the platform for the purpose of providing the service.

You must not upload content that:

  • Contains nudity, explicit sexual material, or graphic violence
  • Depicts someone other than yourself as your profile photo
  • Is protected by third-party copyright without permission
  • Is illegal under UK law

All uploaded photos are screened by our AI moderation system. Content that is flagged as inappropriate will be rejected automatically. Uploading prohibited content may result in account suspension.

6. Identity verification

We may ask you to complete identity verification at any time, including a selfie verification where you submit a photo of yourself. Verification helps us confirm you are who you say you are and protects other users from fake profiles.

Unverified accounts may have restricted access (for example, limited messaging). Verified status increases your visibility in discovery and signals trustworthiness to other users.

7. AI features

LoveLink UK uses artificial intelligence for the following purposes:

  • Generating icebreaker conversation starters (Claude AI / Groq โ€” only your interests and city are shared, never your name or contact details)
  • Screening uploaded photos for explicit or inappropriate content
  • Analysing messages for fraud and scam signals (to protect users)

AI-generated suggestions are provided as starting points only. We do not guarantee their accuracy or suitability. You are responsible for how you use them.

8. Device fingerprinting and fraud detection

To detect and prevent fraud, ban evasion, and multiple accounts, we collect device signals including browser characteristics, screen resolution, timezone, and a device fingerprint hash. This data is processed under our legitimate interest in protecting users and complying with the Online Safety Act 2023.

If a device fingerprint or IP address matches a previously banned account, any new account registered from the same device will be automatically flagged for review or suspended.

9. Premium membership and payments

LoveLink UK offers a premium membership (LoveLink+) billed monthly (ยฃ8.99/month) or annually (equivalent to ยฃ4.99/month). Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

You may cancel your subscription at any time via the Upgrade page โ†’ Manage Subscription, or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period โ€” we do not issue pro-rata refunds for unused time, except where required by UK consumer law (14-day cooling-off period for digital services).

Boost Credits are one-time purchases. Credits are non-refundable once consumed (i.e., once a boost has been activated). Unused credits are retained in your account.

10. Account suspension and bans

We may suspend or permanently ban any account that violates these Terms, poses a risk to other users, or where we have reasonable grounds to suspect fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity. We reserve the right to act without warning where user safety is at risk.

Banned users may submit an appeal by emailing hello@lovelink.uk with the subject line "Ban Appeal". We will review appeals within 10 working days. Attempting to circumvent a ban by creating a new account will result in permanent exclusion.

11. Our rights

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the platform at any time. We may update these Terms โ€” we will notify you of material changes by email. Continued use of LoveLink UK after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Limitation of liability

LoveLink UK is provided "as is". We do not guarantee matches, relationships, or any particular outcome. We are not responsible for user behaviour on or off the platform beyond what is required by UK law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any matter where liability cannot be excluded under UK law.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may also have rights under the law of your country of residence.
